AWS Health Dashboard shows that multiple AWS services in the Bahrain region are experiencing operational issues due to the ongoing US-Iran conflict. AWS said the disruption was caused by drone activity in the area and that it is assisting affected clients in migrating to AWS data centers outside the affected regions.

AWS stated it is working with local authorities and prioritizing the safety of personnel during recovery efforts. The report notes that AWS facilities were disrupted elsewhere in the Middle East as well, including two confirmed strikes in the UAE and a drone incident near Bahrain earlier in the conflict. AWS did not confirm whether a drone strike directly hit Bahrain.

The wider impacts include delays to Meta’s 2Africa undersea cable project and shutdowns or disruptions in regional industrial supply chains, with authorities and companies citing heightened war-related risks and invoking force majeure clauses.
