According to leaker Jaykihn, Intel's LGA1954 socket could support multiple generations of processors, starting with Nova Lake and Razor Lake. This marks a potential shift toward longer platform longevity, similar to AMD's AM4 and AM5 sockets. The socket is expected to debut in 2026 with Intel's Nova Lake CPUs.

Key to this support is a 64MB BIOS SPI ROM on Z970 and Z990 motherboards, while budget B960 boards may not require it. This could create a divide where enthusiasts enjoy seamless upgrades, while budget users face limitations. If true, LGA1954 would be Intel's longest-lived socket since LGA775.
