Iran's Government Information Council accused state broadcaster IRIB of censorship on Friday after parts of President Masoud Pezeshkian's speech on negotiations with the US were not aired. The president had revealed that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei privately approved talks despite publicly opposing them. IRIB rejected the accusations, saying it must prevent any appearance of division in leadership.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also criticized IRIB for not airing his interviews with US media. The dispute comes as Omani mediators visited Tehran to discuss the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump said the war is going well and talks continue through mediators, but no agreement is expected soon. Iran's security council vowed to continue missile launches until the enemy surrenders.
